An IT breakdown is not uncommon. For more than a third of all companies in Germany such an event occurs at least once a month. Mostly the economic losses are substantial, because a company today is barely functional without IT. The growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) crucially depends on a reliable IT infrastructure. However, customized in-house solutions are expensive to purchase and operate.
